The fight for the “Liga BBVA” stills open
After a week that lives tow victories for Real Madrid (Tuesday against the Almería and Sunday against Valencia), the ones of Pellegrini still believe the league is possible and they rank just one point behind F.C. Barcelona.
They completed one of the best matches of the season dominating the first half rewarded with a goal of Higuaín in the 25th minute. The second goal arrived in the 78th achieved by Cristiano Ronaldo clousing out the 2-0 in the score.
Arbeloa was solid defensively and also got forward to good effect, laid one on a plate for Ronaldo in the second half, but he couldn’t convert.

After the last Lionel Messi’s perfomance against Arsenal on Tuesday (the Argentinian player scored all 4 goals for his team) Spanish sports media keep talking about how difficult will be stop him on the main clash of the weekend.
Real Madrid faces FC Barcelona at the White’s coliseum in a match that will decide who will take the lead at “La Liga”. Real Madrid’s Coach, Manuel Pellegrini, will use Alvaro Arbeloa to try to stop the FC Barcelonas’s star.
Alvaro has thus far marked the Ballon d’Or winner four times and has done so with relative success, but he knows that it won’t be easy and that he will have to be focused since the very first minute of the game. This time there’s no room for error.

Arbeloa’s second goal in “La Liga”
Real Madrid vs Atletico de Madrid was last´s weekend most important game in “La Liga”. Both teams were eager to win the derbi and despite Atletico got the lead with a early goal scored by Reyes, Real Madrid wasn´t planning to give up that easily. Xavi Alonso scored the first goal for Real and Alvaro Arbeloa show the way to his teammates scoring the second goal after a great pass from Xavi Alonso.

Pellegrini reserves Arbeloa against Xerez
Álvaro Arbeloa sat in the sidelines in Real Madrid’s third match. With a crowded agenda, Pellegrini is rotating players and this match was Arbeloa’s turn. Sergio Ramos played for Álvaro in the white victory.
Real Madrid won for 5-0 and it becomes leader of the Liga BBVA. Cristiano Ronaldo (2), Guti, Benzema y Van Nistelrooy do the goals.
Arbeloa next opportunity will be next Wednesday against a desesperate Villareal.
BIG SCORE IN EUROPE
Álvaro showed his first time in Champions League with Real Madrid and it couldn’t be better. The white team won 2-5 Zurich, with a good game with Arbeloa’s help. The “Salmantino” played together with Pepe who helped him to play in the center of the field in match’s first half that finished with 3-0.
In second half, Xabi Alonso’s injury and non-existent penalty made Real Madrid suffer, although Arbeloa did a great job in his side slowing swiss players.
Now, Madrid put his view in next match, with Xerez in Bernabéu.
SOLID TRIUMPH IN CORNELLÀ
Álvaro Arbeloa helped to strength Real Madrid’s defense who helped to win 3-0 against Español. It was Español first match in their new stadium in Cornellà-El Prat.
